About 2000 delegates are expected to attend Chama Cha Kazi national delegates’ conference next week on Monday.

The event has been postponed to pave way for UDA event tomorrow at Kasarani Stadium where William Ruto will be endorsed as flag bearer.

CCK party secretary General Kimani Nage said that the delegate’s conference was postponed due to an avoidable circumstance.

He said that among the key guests will include the Kenya Kwanza Alliance team led by deputy president William Ruto (UDA), Musalia Mudavadi (ANC), and Moses Wetangula (Ford Kenya) among others.

Mr. Nage said that the party leader Moses Kuria will give the full details of the meeting to avoid confusion.

“We have so many guests who will be invited to attend our national delegates’ conference but our party leader Moses Kuria will give full updates, “he said.

During an earlier notice to the public, the secretary-general said that the agenda of the meeting includes reviewing, formulation, and approval of the Chama Cha Kazi policies and consideration and approval of any other party matters.

A reliable source had told the writer that the postponement of CCK NDC was concluded on Monday after its officials held a meeting.

The source said that the postponement was to enable Moses Kuria to attend UDA national delegates’ conference at Kasarani Stadium.

He said that the officials felt that since the two parties are now working together, it would work against each other since they share the same friends and ideologies.

“CCK decided to postpone its meeting to prevent colliding with that of UDA and since they share the same ideology of supporting Ruto’s candidature, Kuria requested his officials to a slot for next week where DP Ruto will be their chief guest, “he said.

On Monday, UDA legal secretary Wakili Edward Muriu told the media that all officials from Kenya Kwanza will attend the UDA conference.

He pointed out that Narc-Kenya party leader Martha Karua, Mwangi Kiunjuri (TSP), William Kabogo (Tujibebe Wakenya Party) among others might attend.

“UDA delegates’ conference will bring all the leaders together including Martha Karua, Mwangi Kiunjuri, Moses Kuria and William kabogo among others,” Muriu said.

Previously Moses Kuria had accused Ruto and his UDA team of applying dictatorial tendencies while seeking partners ahead of the August polls.

UDA had initially asked political parties that wanted to work with it to wind up and join it. This move did not sit well with many parties including Kuria’s Chama Cha Kazi and TSP led by Mwangi Kiunjuri.

On Sunday during a political rally in Thika Stadium that was attended by deputy president CCK party leader Moses Kuria said that he will work for hand in hand with deputy president William Ruto.

Kuria said he is optimistic that the deputy president William Ruto is the best candidate to succeed Uhuru Kenyatta.

“I’m sure that the deputy president William Ruto will be our next president and I don’t stake my vote where am not sure, this time around, be ready for Ruto’s presidency, “he said.
