The Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) has been temporarily closed following a false bomb alarm on a flight headed to Johannesburg.
Reports by Newsline.co.ke state that the pilots were forced to abort take-off procedures following the incident.
The fracas is reported to have ensued following a confrontation between a passenger and one of the flight attendants.
Reports trickling in state that the suspect allegedly mentioned the word bomb during the argument, sending the passengers into a panic.
The airport is reportedly under lockdown until further notice as security personnel carry out a thorough screening of all the planes.
According to reports on the ground, there has been no landing or takeoff from the airport following the incident with passengers reportedly disembarking for screening, the two passengers from the South Africa-bound flight have been detained.
