Kabogo Tells Uhuru To Arrest Wetangula

Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has no kind words for Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula and without mincing words urges President Uhuru Kenyatta to order for his arrest over the fake gold syndicate.

He also wants Wetangula extradited to UAE to face the Royal family.

“Mr. Prezo HE UK this guy weta must be arrested and charged accordingly. Then sent to the UAE to face the sheik. Atajua hajui, (he needs to learn his lesson)” Kabogo was categorical on Facebook, Saturday.

Kabogo requested Uhuru not spare anyone on the fight against corruption.

Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula has been linked to a syndicate conning foreigners millions of shillings through dubious deals of selling gold.

Senator Wetangula allegedly traveled to Dubai on December 15, 2018, where he asked for an Sh400 million bribe to influence the release of a gold consignment that had reportedly been held at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

A Mr. Massoud Zandi, a representative of the gold trading company, called Wetangula asking for intervention.

The Director of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti last evening disclosed that preliminary investigations had established that the  Senator was actively involved in the scam that has gripped the country’s attention.

He said detectives are out to establish the extent and circumstances of Wetangula’s involvement, as investigations into the complex web of deceit and trickery continue.

Though Wetangula has maintained a deafening silence since the matter went viral on social media, his personal assistant Chris Mandu Mandu on Monday denied claims the Bungoma senator was involved in the scam saying he, too, was a victim.

“This was a business deal gone sour that is now being peddled around by his business partners, who also lost money in the business transaction. It is very unfortunate that some people are now trying to politicize the whole matter in which the Senator lost huge amounts of money,” Mandu said.
