Former MKU student leader to vie for KPA chairmanship


Former Mount Kenya University student leader Captain Elias Ndung’u has joined the race for Kenya pharmaceutical association chairmanship expected to beheld on 20th July this year.

During a press briefing in Nairobi hotel,Mr Ndung’u stated that some organized cartels within the pharmaceutical industry are plotting to rig the election using the crocked means.

The election is expected to be held in Mombasa a move that some members have objected.

“We will not allow to be mislead by some leaders,election should be conducted in central place like Nairobi for easy accessibly,the cost of conducting it in Mombasa is very high and is aimed to frustrate potential members,”Mr Ndung’u said.

Mr Patrick Adela is exiting the seat after expiry of his tenure.

Mr Elias  also warned the officials of curtaining 6 years for members to vie noting that this is meant to frustrate young graduates with leadership skills.

Captain Elias called for the amendment of the constitution noting that the current is discriminatory especially to the young graduates.

“Let them not frustrate young graduates,our colleagues from medicine field are allowed to vie without being discriminated by years of experience”he adds.

He further pointed finger to the KPA officials for  locking out  potential youths and handpicking 3 candidate among themselves.

“I will move to court to stop the election if they won’t allow us to vie,they should not be selfish by the election and for purpose of credibility,KPA should contact IEBC to conduct,”he stated.
