Mount Kenya University founder and Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation chairman Simon Gicharu has said that he wasn’t consulted prior to his latest appointed by Kiambu Governor Ferdinard Waititu.
In a gazette notice published on Friday, Waititu, through his finance executive, Francis Kigo listed Mr Gicharu to head the committee meant to help clear a backlog of bills.
“Basic courtesy should have dictated that they reach out to me before making such an important announcement. At least by doing so, they would have got my views on whether I have the knowledge, skills and time to discharge such a huge task,” he said
Gicharu was listed alongside Joel Ngeru, Hannah Muchai, Edwin Njuguna and Eng Peter Njenga.
