John Demathew or Baba Shiku as popularly know by his supporters is no more, the road accident at Blue post hotel has claimed his life leaving his followers in tears.

Its a black sunday, until his demise he was the chairperson of the newly-launched Tamco Sacco that aims to uplift the welfare of Kikuyu musicians.

All his songs was to call for Kikuyu unity and Kenya as general.

Former Kiambu governor William Kabogo said that Demathew was sick and he was about to meet him tomorrow morning over a cup of tea.

Thika Base Commander Elenah Wamuyu said Demathew’s car rammed into a lorry near Blue Post Hotel. He was alone in the car.

Gatanga MP Ngugi Nduati said DeMathew was coming from a harambee held at Metro Bar in support of fellow musician Peter Kigia.

“We want to come together and join a Sacco to pool resources together so that when we die, our families do not resort to harambees to give us a decent send-off,” he said early this year at Thika Greens during the launch.
