Tottenham midfielder Victor Wanyama is set to join Club Brugge for £13million Wanyama is set to sign a four-year contract following protracted negotiations The 28-year-old also had interest from Bologna, Monaco, Celtic and Valencia
Tottenham and Club Brugge have agreed on a £13million deal for Victor Wanyama.
The 28-year old is expected to sign a four-year contract after protracted negotiations came to a close on Thursday afternoon.
Wanyama, who had two years left on the contract, had interest from Bologna, Monaco, Celtic and Valencia but Tottenham were refusing to loan out the Kenya international and only wanted a permanent sale.
Talks had also stalled over personal terms with Brugge offering a drop in salary despite him becoming their highest earner alongside Simon Mignolet.
Wanyama cost Tottenham a bargain £11m from Southampton and they have done well to make a profit through the fee entails an initial £9m upfront with the rest in add ons.
The powerful midfielder has suffered from niggling knee injuries in recent seasons and dropped down the pecking order under Mauricio Pochettino.
He wants to kickstart his career and play more regularly.
Wanyama will hope to prove his worth in the Champions League and saw Brugge draw Real Madrid and Paris St Germain, two of the tournament favorites, in Group A on Thursday.
