Kikuyu Elders Cleanse the ‘Gay Mountain’

Since time immemorial, the Gikuyu, Embu and Meru elders hold annual prayers around the Mt. Kenya mountains where they believe their God lives. This year was no exceptional and the prayers were held on 27 December 2019.

The prayers took place in the mountain that few days played host to the Members of the Kenyan lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBTQ) community.

This visit by LGBTQ angered the Kikuyu Elders Association and a cleansing ceremony took place before the annual prayers to cleanse the Holy Mountain.
