Why Evangelist Lucy Wangunjiri Called Off Kesha 2019 Last Minute

On 31st December 2019, thousands of Kameme Fm listeners  flocked at the Prayers Beyond Boundaries Ministries at Ngara to welcome the new year as it has been the norm.

Majority had traveled from Mombasa, Nakuru, Murang’a, Kiambu and Machakos, Some come drunk not to miss the New Year Prophecy but more so, to be prayed for and go home knowing those prayers will definitely keep them throughout the new year.

But their wish didn’t last long after realizing that the Church had called off the the “Kesha” due to logistical issues.

A senior Church leader who talked to Newsline.co.ke said that Evangelist Lucy announced to her members who were in shock that the church won’t have the annual “Kesha” due to finances that culminates to about Ksh 3 millions.The Church had no money to finance crossover (Kesha)

She said that the 2019 event wasn’t possible as there are several expenses that are always catered for such as tents,Sound system and Security of the people who attends the meeting as well as advertisement fees that are always costly.

“Its true,Wangunjiri called off the “Kesha” due to finances,the budget was not attainable,like in 2018 kesha, it was about sh 3 million and the arrears were very high,The huge following don’t like commitment and so Evangelist Lucy crawls to the finish line and paid the debt,”she said.

She added “Also, she didn’t want to overburdened her members who are already struggling to relocate this Church from City Pry School. adding that , the Nairobi City County refused to renew the Church lease and there has been heavy battles from the City Primary School board,”

“Evangelist Lucy announced to her members who were in shock that due to the heavy budget of over 3 million, she wont host the event but her Radio followers were told to follow her on Radio on 31st morning and 1st respectively for the years prophecy and prayers,”she emphasized.

In 2018, Wa Ngunjiri had over 40,000 people and plans were being made to get more police to the unmanageable crowds.

Efforts to reach her through phone were futile by the time of going to print as she was on air preaching.
