Supporters of Embakasi East Mp Babu Owino were on Monday morning arrested after disrupting court proceedings.
They had attended Court proceedings in solidarity to their Mp who was arrested of over gun drama.He allegedly shot popular club DJ.
He was charged with two counts, attempt to commit murder and possession of a gun while drunk and disorderly.
Milimani Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi was forced to adjourn the case to enable police to clear the courtroom corridors.
Magistrate stood down State Prosecutor Jacob Ondari who was making his submissions to await normalcy to resume in court.
“We cannot proceed with this hearing given the noise from the corridors. Now I ask police to escort those making noise out of the court,” said Mr Andayi.
Lawyer Cliff Ombeta, who represents Owino,requested that MP be released on bond noting he had two young children and a wife at home.
He told the court that he had documents confirming his client had paid Ksh600,000 to Nairobi Hospital to cover the cost of Evolve’s treatment.
Earlier, Mr Ondari ,State Prosecutor had asked the court to deny Mr Owino bond, saying that relatives of DJ Odhiambo Orinda, popularly known as DJ Evolve, whom he is accused of shooting, said he is in critical condition. They also expressed fears that the MP will interfere with witnesses once released on bond.
