Ex-Kiambu governor Ferdinand Waititu is accused of using Uhuru’s name to defraud a widow in Kamae 9 acre piece of land and destroying tree worth sh 30 million.
Pauline Chelagat Gitau, 55 as quoted by People Daily on Tuesday, February 18, stated that Waititu was accompanied by a team of county askaris where they raided her home anddestroyed indigenous trees valued at Ksh30 million in November 2018.
Mrs Gitau explained she learnt from her son that the governor had invaded their land and was cutting down tree claiming that they have been sent by president Uhuru Kenyatta.
“I was shocked and scared that the destruction of my trees was being done by the governor. Though I was scared, I went to the farm and confronted him, demanding to know why he had trespassed on my property,” Gitau recounted.
“Wherever I go, the president knows and he is the one who has sent me here. As the governor, I’m the government,” she recalled Waititu saying.
Also last year,Waititu was accused by Ms Cecilia Mbugua of stealing her land and later transferring it to Ms Esther Nyatu land worth Sh100 million.
Following an investigation and subsequent recommendation by the Commission on Administrative Justice (CAJ) uncovered that a prime property belonging to Ms Cecilia Mbugua.
Commission on Administrative Justice (CAJ) investigations revealed that two properties – Thika Municipality/BlockXI/877 and Thika Municipality/BlockXI/878 – belonging to Ms Mbugua, were transferred to Ms Nyatu, in a process facilitated by the governor.
