President Uhuru Kenyatta through Kiambu governor James Nyoro over the weekend contributed sh 1 million to the family of the late Kahawa Wendani MCA Cyrus Omondi while Siaya Senator James Orongo contributed sh 200,000.
Report by People Daily Newspaper states that the head of state is closely monitoring the investigations to unveil the misterious death of the MCA.
Governor Nyoro hinted that the head of state might attend the funeral scheduled for Friday this week in Siaya.
Nyoro and Orengo had paid a visit to the MCA family where they called on the government to step up investigations.
Omondi, who had travelled for an official education workshop was found dead early last month in his hotel room in Mumbai, India.
His death left his family, colleagues, friends and Kenyans in shock with many now seeking answers on what led to his death.
“Investigations are being executed by the top DCI office but we will lay him to rest as we pursue his cause of death,” said Nyoro.
Details remain scanty on the results of postmortems conducted on Omondi’s body.
