With the 2022 general election just being around the corner with only one and a half year remaining, politicians are now setting down strategies that they will use to tap the trust of their supporters.
In Nakuru County, things seem to be the same as political heavyweight are investing heavily in laying out ground strategies to ensure that they topple the current governor Lee Kinyanjui.
The seat is expected to attract dozen of candidates among them the current senator Susan Kihika, Lee Kinyanjui, Kinuthia Mbugua among others.

Already Kinyanjui is expected to defend his seat while Mbugua, the former Administration police boss and former governor are plotting to make a comeback, currently, he works at Statehouse.
The senator Susan Kihika is also eyeing the seat with intention of raising her political bar, for the last six years, she has been rising a political radar, she started as County Assembly Speaker, then Women representative and now she is eyeing the gubernatorial race.

Political pundits believe that the deputy president is banking on Susan Kihika to oust Lee Kinyanjui from power. He is very close to President Uhuru Kenyatta as well as the late president Moi family members.
The closeness to Moi family was manifested during the burial of the late president where he was given the key role during the burial.
They argue that if Susan attracts a huge crowd in the ground level, it will be advantageous to Ruto as he will ride behind her to campaign for the presidency comes 2022.

Already, the DP has managed to marshal huge following in the rift valley as he has a section of staunch supporters from members of the parliament as well as governors who are loyal to him.
