Kiambu governor James Nyoro came to proper limelight last year after the impeachment of his boss Ferdinand Waititu and its during his swearing-in ceremony that his family was brought to the public.
Before then, he had kept his wife and children away from the media.
Immediately he was sworn in, governor Nyoro turned to his wife and kissed as his supporters celebrate.
The fall out between Waititu and Nyoro was so imminent that they once faced off in the presence of the deputy president William Ruto during an event in Kiambu.
Immediately he was sworn in, Nyoro joined a host of other governors in campaigning for the building bridges initiative fronted by president Uhuru Kenyatta and former prime minister and opposition leader Raila Odinga.
Nyoro who has become very vocal has maintained that he will stand in support of President Uhuru Kenyatta to ensure the fulfilment of the big 4 agenda and building of his legacy.
Political pundits state that Mr Nyoro is associating with the top brass in the political career to save his career and to ensure his re-election comes 2022.
Already a good number of politicians from Kiambu county are said to be planning to contest against him.
Among those who are said to e ready include former governor William Kabogo, Bishop Gakuyo, County senator Kimani Wamatangi and women representative Gathoni Wamuchomba.
During a recent interview with the media, Gathoni said that she is ready to work as Kiambu governor if she is requested by the locals.
Also, analysts state that Wamatangi might decide to team up with other leaders for him to campaign for the governor post.
