Following the rejection of the proposed revenue sharing formula brought forth by Murang’a County Senator Hon. Irungu Kangata that saw some members allied to Deputy President William Ruto vote against the bill has brought jitters amongst TangaTanga members.
This was after Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Hon. Kipchumba Murkomen voted against the president’s proposed bill while his TangaTanga counterpart Nakuru County Senator Hon. Susan Kihika voted in favour of the motion.
Now Deputy President William Ruto is being termed as the enemy of mount Kenya as he had earlier stated that the senators come to a dialogue on the matter.
The motion over the weekend had taken another twist when the Senate Majority Whip Hon. Irungu Kangata had threatened that if the ODM side wouldn’t support the bill then the government wouldn’t be able to support the BBI initiative brought forth by President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
Gatundu south member of the National Assembly Hon. Moses Kuria who is a fierce critic of the handshake has been seen stating that the bill that was rejected was good since it brought funds to areas with high population rather than the per capita one where counties that didn’t generate income for the government received a lot of funds.
Now TangaTanga members are seen as splitting into two factions and these could mean more trouble for the deputy president William Ruto.
