Kabati Residents Accuse Proto Energy Limited of Favouritism and Mistreatment of Locals

Residents of Kabati are plotting to hold mega demonstration and barricade major highway claiming that a proto energy limited managers are mistreating locals by denying them jobs and favouring some tribes.

Proto Energy Limited is a successful entrant into the LPG market in Kenya providing reliable, convenient, affordable, quality product and services.

The company is funded by Emerging Capital Partners (ECP) who are seeking to increase LPG usage in Kenya and Africa in general.

The company produce and circulate Pro-Gas in the market.

The founder of Pro-Gas is billionaire businessman Mohammed Jaffer. The company started operations in Kenya in 2017 and has gone to establish itself as a market leader.

Mohammed Jaffer was born in Mombasa in 1948. He is the owner of Africa Gas and Oil (AGOL) which owns Proto Energy Limited under which Pro Gas is sold. The billionaire is the founder of MJ Group, Africa’s largest provider of cargo handling services at the port of Mombasa.

Mohammed Jaffer’s vast empire that is estimated at $1 billion started four decades with an initial investment of $200, reports Khoja Leadership Forum (KLF).

Early this year,the company allegedly fired about 100 manufacturing employees where area chief was accused of working in cohort.

A story that was published by Opera News stated that other tribes are being given priority to work in the company rather than Kikuyu who are dominant.

The area MCA Amos Murigi is said to have solved the issue.
