Agilitee Africa, a leading electric vehicle manufacturer, is planning to move its African headquarters out of South Africa.
The company’s decision follows a recent shift in its global operations to the United States after securing significant investment from the region.
Founded in South Africa in 2018, Agilitee is seeking a new base in Africa where it can collaborate with a supportive government to expand its operations.
The company is in talks with several countries and aims to relocate by the end of the year. The move will involve setting up a manufacturing facility, developing electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure, and creating thousands of jobs.
Agilitee Africa is looking for incentives such as land for a manufacturing plant, locations for EV charging stations, and buyer subsidies for electric vehicles and solar systems.
The relocation is expected to spur the company’s ambitious expansion plans, supported by a recent $450 million capital raise.
The company, which produces electric scooters widely used in the delivery sector, is recognized as Africa’s first electric vehicle manufacturer and a growing player in green technology on the continent.
