All Mombasa County health facilities to go digital before 2026, says Abdulswamad

Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir has announced they are at an advanced stage to digitize all county health facilities.
He said the digitization will be from Level One health facilities to the Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital to enable them to have a data base of a patients.
“At the moment only four health facilities have been digitized and that’s why I want to ensure all county health facilities are digitized,” he pointed out.
Abdulswamad said the digitization will enable the facilities to know when  the patient has been attended to and in cases of referral.
He spoke during the rolling out of Social Health Authority [SHA] registration exercise held at Ziwani Seventh Day Adventist Church in Mvita constituency, Mombasa county.
The Mombasa governor assured the forum the digitization program will have the information on the stock of medicines available.
Abdulswamad said at the moment his cellphone is the only one that has access to information on the digitization program of health facilities.
He said once the digitization program takes off the health facilities will do away with paper work.
“The move will ensure they are in step with other countries in the world which have done away with paper work movement at health facilities,” he said.
The  governor disclosed the system will be able reveal the common diseases rampant within the county health facilities.
Abdulswamad further disclosed this will also show how medicines are being distributed and the level of stock available.
