Arsenal legend Ian Wright has slammed Ralf Ragnck’s pattern of football after Manchester United were beaten at Old Trafford 1-0 by a solid Wolverhampton Wanderers side.

The Red Devils were hoping to close the gap on fourth-placed Arsenal after the Gunners had on New Year’s Day lost to league leaders Manchester City at the Emirates.

But Ralf Ragnick’s side failed to capitalize on that result as they were also shocked at home by Joao Moutinho’s 82nd-minute strike.

The loss was the first under new manager Ralf Ragnick after previously guiding the Old Trafford club to three wins and one draw in his previous league games in charge.

Manchester United have now lost six league games so far this season and former Arsenal striker Ian Wright believes Ralf Rangnick hasn’t had the positive impact most people expected when he was brought in to replace Norwegian Ole Gunner Solksjaer.

Wright as reported by Sportskeeda believes Manchester United is currently worse under the new management.

“Again, I’m watching a game where if it was under Ole (Gunnar Solskjaer) people would be going ‘what is the pattern? What are they doing?’ I’m seeing exactly the same thing under Ralf (Rangnick). I can’t see what he’s doing. I can’t see any difference to what was happening before. It actually looks worse.” Manchester United are currently placed seventh in the Premier League standings, having amassed 31 points from 19 matches but have played one game less than their fellow Top four contenders Arsenal.

Ronaldo was captaining Manchester United on the night but was more of a peripheral figure on the pitch as the former Real Madrid and Juventus forward struggled to impact the game making just three touches inside the opposition box.
