Auditor General Requests time to go through documents submitted by Sakaja & team

Senate Committee on Public Investments and Special Funds Committee was yesterday forced to reschedule their meeting with Nairobi governor Johnson Sakaja and his team after the Auditor General requested time to go through documents they had submitted.

The committee was to consider the report by the auditor General for the Nairobi City County Alcoholic Drinks and Licensing Board, the Nairobi City County Bursary and Scholarship Fund, the Nairobi City County Disaster and Emergency Fund, and the Nairobi City County Wards Development Fund for Financial years 2019/20, 2020/21 and 2021/22.

“The PIC committee meeting with governor Sakaja was rescheduled, as the Auditor was not ready to proceed with the meeting as he had not gone through the documents submitted by the Nairobi City County Government.” PISFC chairman stated.

Sakaja agreed to the reschedule saying the feedback by the auditor general would enrich the deliberations of the committee.

“I am fully in agreement that the Auditor General’s feedback would enrich the deliberations and therefore happy with the adjournment. We are fully compliant and were eager to share the robust changes/ developments I have made in the county government.” Sakaja said.

He assured the Senate committee that he would still honor the next appearance when invited.
