Brave Maasai Herder Chases Away Lion Eating his Cow [VIDEO]

Tourist visiting one of Kenya’s great national park were treated to a scene after a Maasai herder face off with a lion that had killed one of his herd of cattle.

A video doing round online shows the young man running towards the female lion feasting on his dead cow.

Tourists filming the incident enjoyed as the lion unbothered ate the flesh.

However, within a short time the cat got a rude shock as the herder armed with spear and a sword.

“Wewe” he shouted a few steps away, frightening the animal which attempted to charge back but gave up.

“Because of the cow” one tourist is heard asking as the other shouts “It is crazy”.

Drivers ferrying the tourists hooted at him while others shouted at him thinking he was risking his life while others felt bad for he disrupted their rare moment of seeing the carnivore feast live.

When another tourist told him “You are crazy man”, his anger was prevalent.

He pointed at her with the panga, warning her to keep off his business.

There has been many cases of human-wildlife conflict in Kenya especially in the pastoralist areas.

Government is spending millions compensating people over their livestock or when such are maimed or killed by wildlife, particularly the cats, elephants and buffaloes.

In other many cases, people have killed the wild animals preying on their herds.

This problem has been witnessed in the peripheries of Nairobi and cases of wild animals like lions, hyenas and leopards straying to the estates in Rongai, Ngong, Lang’ata and Kitengela area increasing.
