Co-op Bank Is Overall Winner Of Sustainable Finance Catalyst Awards 2023

The Co-operative Bank has emerged as the Overall Winner at the prestigious Kenya Bankers Association (KBA) 2023 Sustainable Finance Catalyst Awards.

These esteemed awards celebrate financial institutions that demonstrate excellence in sustainable financial practices.

The principles of Sustainable Finance require financial institutions to strike a balance between their pursuit of financial returns and the consideration of the economy’s future priorities and social-environmental concerns.

Taking to their social media platforms, Co-operative Bank expressed their pride in clinching the award for the fourth time in six years, solidifying their unwavering commitment to financial sustainability.

The bank stated, “Co-op Bank has once again taken the Overall Winner, Sustainable Finance Catalyst Awards 2023. These Kenya Banker’s Association awards recognize financial institutions that excel in sustainable financial practices. This is the 4th time in 6years that Co-op Bank has taken the award, confirming our commitment to financial sustainability,”

“We carried home everything in the Sustainable Finance Catalyst Awards 2023,” the bank stated.

This marks the 4th win in 6 years, a testament to the bank’s dedication to financial sustainability.

The bank retained position after it was named Overall Winner at the Kenya Bankers Association (KBA) Sustainable Finance Catalyst Awards in the year 2022.

This latest accolade joins a series of recent recognitions, further establishing Co-op Bank’s robust credentials in Sustainable Finance and related sustainability practices.

Notably, the bank recently received the prestigious Best Financier of SMEs in Africa golden award at the Global SME Finance Awards 2023.

In this category, Co-op Bank was honored with the Gold Award for SME Financier of the Year in Africa.

Gideon Muriuki, Group Managing Director and CEO of Co-op Bank, expressed his pride in the achievement, emphasizing that such awards not only enhance the bank’s reputation but also underscore its commitment to the growth of SMEs in Africa.

Prior to this, Co-operative Bank of Kenya had already secured the top spot in the customer satisfaction survey conducted by the Kenya Bankers’ Association (KBA).
