Co-op Bank Opens New Branch in Luanda

Co-operative Bank has expanded its physical presence with the opening of a new branch in Luanda town, Vihiga County.

This move is part of the bank’s medium-term strategy focused on local expansion. The new branch was officially opened on Thursday and the event was graced by prominent figures, including former Speaker of the National Assembly Kenneth Marende and Mr. Peter Kirugu, Head of Branch Banking.

In a statement to the media, the bank expressed gratitude to all participants of the event, highlighting the significance of the new branch in their mission to better serve Kenyans.

“A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the grand opening of our Co-op Bank branch in Luanda. The ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the beginning of a new chapter in our journey to serve you better,” the statement read.

The Co-op Bank has recently inaugurated branches in various towns including Thika, Meru, Kamakis, Kimana Town in Kajiado, and Kenol Town, among others.

This widespread expansion not only enhances the bank’s presence but also bolsters its capacity to meet the diverse needs of customers in various regions.

Co-op Bank branches serve as Service Hubs, supporting not just their own customers, but also the bank’s subsidiary network including Saccos, especially those running Front Office Service Activities (FOSAs) now numbering 479 nationwide, and 23,000 bank agents who rely on the bank’s cash management services, training, and supervision.
