Credit Bank has launched a women-targeted banking product called “ElevateHer” to support over 500 women develop their business management skills through access to a microlearning portal.

The lender majoring in the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) sector says the portal will offer customised learning to the women, helping them gain knowledge, skills, and tools required to gain access to finance and scale up their businesses.

“The institution will provide intensive business support to 100 of the 500 women entrepreneurs through tailored business advisory sessions, advanced business workshops, mentoring, networking and links to financial services, investment, and markets,” said the bank’s chief executive Betty Korir.

Korir said SMEs that qualify for the programme are those with revenues exceeding Sh1 million, an employee base of between five and 30 people and have built innovative products within the agribusiness, energy, manufacturing and healthcare sectors.

The programme will mentor the women, expose them to networks, provide them with access to capital and equip them with the tools they need to succeed, said Korir
