DP Ruto is Banking on Wanjiku wa Muhia to Unseat NA Majority Leader Amos Kimunya in Kipipiri

She is a holder of a masters degree in Business Administration from the University of Sunderland in the United Kingdom.

If Kipipiri Member of Parliament and National Assembly Majority leader Hon Amos Kimunya is to be brought to a reckoning stop at the ballot in his bid for re-election in August 9th Polls, it will most likely be by former Nyandarua Woman Representative and EALA MP Wanjiku Muhia.

Kimunya who clinched the seat in the 2017 general elections under Jubilee Alliance Party dethroning former MP Samuel Gichigi who ran on the Alliance Party of Kenya (APK) party is seeking a reelection for a fourth term as the constituency’s representative.

But Deputy President William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance Party (UDA) is banking on the candidature of Ms Wanjiku Muhia, a fiery orator and effective grassroots mobiliser who has promised the current Majority leader a bruising battle at the polls, come August.

She is a holder of a masters degree in Business Administration from the University of Sunderland in the United Kingdom.

Also interested in the seat is Raphael Njui who served as Industrialisation, Trade and Cooperatives Development CEC in Nyandarua County Government and former MP Samuel Gichigi who will be seeking to recapture the seat.

Ms Muhia served as Nyandarua County Women Representative from 2013 to 2017 after being elected with 158,486 vote. she was dethroned by Hon Faith Gitau in the Jubilee Primaries. In the 2017 nominations, Ms Gitau won the party’s support to run after garnering 29,589 votes against Ms Muhia’s 7,

In this year’s General Elections, she abandoned her interest in the seat that she held, and shifted to the Kipipiri parliamentary seat. Wanjiku Muhia is a staunch supporter of Deputy President William Ruto in the county.
