Deputy president William Ruto is expected to visit Nyeri County on Sunday for a fund drive at Mweiga Catholic Church.

The church is seeking about Ksh 2 million to drill borehole and they have invited the DP to help.

At the event, he will be expected to expected to market the bottom-up economic model he is promising to use to transform the lives of Kenyans if he forms the next government.

He will be hosted by area leaders among them, Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua, among other leaders.

Also, the DP will use the opportunity to welcome Magutu ward MCA Pauline Wamabati who joined UDA.

He was elected on PNU ticket in 2017 election and he has been supporting Jubilee government.

Magutu ward is in Mathira constituency, Nyeri County.

She was welcomed to the party by Ndindi Nyoro, Rigathi Gachagua and host of MCAs from the County.

In a phone interview, the close confidant of the DP said they are rallying behind Ruto because of his development track record.

“Ruto has consistently been close to us. Uhuru instructed us that when we have problems we should see him. We have been telling him our problems and he has managed to address them. It is from this background that Ruto has found support from across the country,” he added.
