Kitui women representative Dr. Irene Kasalu has once again affirmed her position as a leading political force in the County.
This is after she topped an online opinion poll as the most preferred gubernatorial candidate ahead of the 2027 general elections.
She is a staunch supporter of Wiper party as well as a close ally to former vice president Kalonzo Musyoka.
In a poll conducted online ,she got 729 votes — representing 61% of the total ballots cast.
Dr. Kasalu outshone her closest rival, Kitui Senator Hon. Enoch Kiio Wambua, who secured 497 votes.
Hon. Makali Mulu followed with 128 votes.
Political analysts argue that these numbers not only reflect popularity but signal the public’s growing confidence in Dr. Kasalu’s leadership and transformative vision for Kitui.
What makes Dr. Kasalu stand out is not just her remarkable track record, but her deep, authentic connection with the people of Kitui.
Having served as Woman Representative for nearly eight years, she has remained close to the ground — walking with the people, listening to their needs, and advocating for them both locally and nationally.
Her experience has shaped her into a leader who understands the county’s challenges intimately — and more importantly, knows how to address them.
The support she commands is a powerful testament to her people-first leadership.
Residents see her not as a distant politician, but as a dependable partner in progress.

From initiating decent housing for vulnerable families, to equipping all primary and secondary schools with water tanks, and rolling out scholarships that span secondary to higher education, Dr. Kasalu has proven her commitment to uplifting communities.
One of her most impactful initiatives, “Kila Musyi Itangi,” aims to ensure that every household has access to a water tank — a practical solution to the county’s persistent water challenges.
Her empowerment of women and youth through training, funding, and tools continues to create real economic opportunities and foster self-reliance across Kitui.

Her leadership is defined not just by projects, but by purpose — rooted in service, compassion, and action.
Dr. Kasalu’s development agenda is not about politics; it’s about people, progress, and dignity.
As 2027 approaches, the message from Kitui residents is becoming clearer by the day: they are rallying behind a leader who delivers, a leader they trust, and a leader who carries their hopes into the future. Kitui is not just preparing to vote — it’s choosing real impact over empty promises, and proven results over hollow rhetoric.
And in that powerful choice, Dr. Irene Kasalu stands tall.
