Empowering Women: BangBet’s CSR Efforts in Makueni County

In a heartwarming display of compassion and community support, BangBet Limited extended its CSR initiatives by supporting widows and orphans in Makueni County.

The company hosted an event at Kako Comprehensive School where over 1,000 beneficiaries received food donations to help them celebrate the festive season.

The event was graced by Betting Control and Licensing Board Chairperson, Reverend Dr. Jane Makau, who grew up in the region. She highlighted the role of women, particularly widows, in society, stating that they are often the unsung heroes who manage households despite facing immense challenges. Dr. Makau praised BangBet for their generosity, noting,

“This food donation is not just an act of kindness; it’s a lifeline for many families who would otherwise struggle to celebrate Christmas.”

BangBet’s Manager, David Gichuhi, spoke about the company’s commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility.

“Our CSR programs are driven by the belief that success must be shared with the communities that support us. Today’s event is part of our ongoing effort to give back and make a difference,” he said.

The event also attracted other notable leaders, including Principal Secretary for Devolution, Teresia Mbaika Malokwe, and the President’s Advisor on Women’s Rights, Hon. Harriette Chiggai. Both women commended BangBet’s continuous support for vulnerable groups and encouraged more companies to adopt similar CSR practices.

BangBet’s CSR efforts did not stop with food donations; the company also contributed to a borehole project at Kako Comprehensive School. This project will provide clean water to the school and local community, alleviating a major challenge faced by many residents.
