The Family Bank Board of Directors and Management announced with deep sorrow the passing of their newly appointed Chairman, Architect Francis Gitau Mungai. Arch. Mungai passed away while receiving treatment in the United States.
Architect Mungai had been a distinguished member of the Family Bank Board since 2016, recently serving as Vice Chairman for the past two years before his elevation to Chairman.
During his tenure, he led the Board Credit Committee and the Board Human Resource Committee, and actively contributed as a member of the Nominations and Governance Committee. Additionally, he was a Director of Pesa Pap Digital, a subsidiary of Family Bank Ltd.
His association with Family Bank began much earlier in 1996, where he contributed significantly both as a customer and as a professional architect. His longstanding commitment and invaluable contributions played a pivotal role in the growth and success of the bank.
The Family Bank fraternity expressed their profound grief and extended their heartfelt condolences to Arch. Mungai’s family, friends, and the broader architectural community. The bank emphasized the deep void his passing leaves and the immense loss felt by those who had the privilege of knowing and working with him.
“We will miss him immensely,” the bank’s statement read, highlighting the impactful legacy Architect Mungai leaves behind.
As the community mourns this significant loss, Family Bank wishes for God’s eternal peace to be upon Arch. Mungai’s soul.
