The Farmers Party has officially joined the Kenya Kwanza Coalition as a principal effective Wednesday 23rd March 2022.
The party had earlier inked political deal with one Kenya alliance led by Kalonzo Musyoka and Gideon Moi.
The Farmers Party firmly believes in having farmers first, and after lengthy and deep deliberations with the Deputy President H.E. William Ruto, we are assured that Kenyan farmers stand a better chance in Kenya Kwanza.
The Party has tasked The National Chairperson, Irungu Nyakera (CBS) and who is also a leading Gubernatorial Contestant in Murang’a County, to champion the welfare of farmers and ensure that critical party policy positions on agriculture in Kenya are achieved, understood and accepted across the coalition.
2022 is a critical year for farmers and the party is committed to seeing the gains that have been made in the tea and coffee sector preserved and implemented in order to improve and guarantee better earnings to farmers.
In 2021, Kenya was classified as the 29th most hungry country in the world and the current skyrocketing of food prices and inputs for farmers paint a gloomy picture for the country and for farming. We are urging the government to Immediately review the prices of fertilizer to ensure that our farmers plant this season.
As the only political party in Kenya that has a focus on a pillar of the Big 4 Agenda – Agriculture and food security- we assure farmers that they will have a seat at the table of decisions through a Kenya Kwanza coalition Government. Farmers Party currently has aspirants from all regions in Kenya and we are accepting aspirants for the position of Governor, Senator, Women Representative, Member of Parliament, and Member of County Assembly, with a deadline of 26th March 2022.
