Federation of Kenya Employers (FKE) held its 65th Annual General Meeting (AGM) marking a significant transition in the leadership.
Dr. Gilda Odera has been elected as FKE National President, succeeding Dr. Habil Olaka.
For the last 65 years, federation has elected a woman as a national President for the first time and she will serve for a span of two years. Odera previously served as FKE’s 1st Vice President.
The AGM also saw the unveiling of the Federation’s Strategic Plan 2024-2028 focusing on delivering value for members.
“This strategic plan is anchored on the belief that united employers form a formidable force to influence policy and regulatory environments for an improved business landscape” said FKE outgoing National President Dr. Habil Olaka
The key strategies outlined in the strategic plan include ensuring employers are actively engaged and satisfied with FKE services, delivering high-value membership services and programs and enhancing FKE advocacy efforts to effectively influence policies and laws for a supportive business environment.
However the Federation outlined financial sustainability and efficient resource management and maintaining robust leadership and governance structure.
Speaking during the launch of 2024-2028 Strategic Plan FKE Chief Executive Officer Ms. Jacqueline Mugo said the plan marks a milestone in the operations of the federation.
“This Strategic Plan identify key performance targets, strategies and deliverables that we will focus on in the period 2024-2028. It also highlights our commitment as a Secretariat to the principles we shall uphold as we serve the members in Strategic Plan period” Mugo stated.
During the strategic plan period 2024-2028, FKE aims to build a leading brand with strong emotional commitment from employers and public attractiveness, amplify the collective voice of employers through proactive advocacy and influence, achieve long-term financial and organizational sustainability for effective service delivery and member support, and create a sense of value and belonging for each member.
To enable these strategies, FKE will focus on digital transformation, effective member engagement and participation, operational efficiency and addressing people and culture issues.
The Strategic Plan is guided by FKE’s core values of being progressive, Agile, Team- Oriented and Excellent.
