Bungoma County Governor Kenneth Lusaka has urged elected leaders in the county to prioritize their responsibilities and allow him to fulfill his promises to the citizens.
Mr. Lusaka stated that it is his duty to ensure he has delivered on the policies and development projects he pledged when he campaigned to be elected as Governor in August 2022.
Lusaka expressed concerns about the political conflicts in Bungoma, questioning the direction that some politicians have taken, which he believes may hinder his efforts.

“We were elected together to serve in different positions. Each one of us should fully focus on our respective roles,” Mr. Lusaka said.
The Governor raised concerns about the politics surrounding the Public Service Board in the county, stating that the Constitution has granted it the authority to appoint individuals based on their competence and, therefore, should not be interfered with.
“Let the Public Service Board carry out its responsibilities, including the appointment of the County Secretary and providing us with a suitable candidate. Do not interfere with that process,” Mr. Lusaka emphasized.
He made these remarks on Monday, October 9, 2023, during the swearing-in ceremony of members of the Municipal Board at the Bungoma County Headquarters.
