Granton Samboja launches mass Covid vaccination drive

Taita Taveta Governor Granton Samboja has officially launched the countywide Covid-19 mass vaccination targeting all residents aged 18 and over.

The exercise has been planned in all the four sub counties of Taveta, Mwatate, Voi and Wundanyi.

While overseeing the exercise at Wusi-Kishamba Ward at the new Mwachawaza Dispensary, Samboja advised local people to take necessary precautions to guard themselves from the virus by following the Health Ministry protocols.

“Please take advantage of this mass vaccination and get vaccinated. It will help protect you and everyone else around you,” said the governor.

County Health Minister John Mwakima termed the vaccines as safe and encouraged all in the targeted group to avail themselves.

According to Mwakima, 49 stations where the mass vaccination will be undertaken have been identified.

“We have outreach sites in every ward and each ward has been allocated a date between now up to September 24,” he said.

Governor Samboja donated a consignment of 1,000 face-masks to the locals.
