Having S3x With Relative Could Earn You 10 Years in Prison, Lawyer Warns

Incestuous relationships, both forced or with mutual consent have been around in families across the globe for decades.

Sex affairs between related people are viewed as taboo but largely kept a secret to avoid embarrassment to the affected families.

However, should such get to the court of law it would attract a jail term of about 10 years according to criminal lawyer Samuel Ayora.

Ayora says a number of issues are considered when cases of incest get to the court, among them the age of the victim.

However, even if the victim was 18 years and above can earn the accused about 10 years.

“The issues include age. Ifthe victim is under 18, it can be a life sentence, but in cases where those involved are adults, that can attract a 10-year jail term” Ayora says.

Adding that some incest cases in courts are as a result of deep-seated differences between parents.

A Nairobi Court sentenced a 68-year-old man to life sentence for sleeping with his underage daughter.

In 2015 at Makadara court a 50-year-old man shocked the session after he admitted to having an affair with his daughter who he impregnated.
