A story is told by several political players on how broke David Murathe sold his parliamentary seat in 1997 to royal media boss S.K Macharia who was eyeing Gatanga parliamentary seat by then.
Former Kiambu governor William Kabogo was first to broke news last year on his tweeter account lashing out to Murathe after he claimed that DP Ruto should be packing his goods ready to vacate office alongside his boss Uhuru Kenyatta comes 2022.
“Murathe has no authority to speak on anyone’s behalf. Who is he to ask DP Dr. WSR to retire from politics in 2022 we’ve not forgotten he sold his parliamentary seat to S.K Macharia. He’s politically broke,” Kabogo said in a tweet.

He has never come out to deny the claim a move several political analyst assert to be true.
Murathe has been pushing deputy president to resign following numerous alleged scandals and disrespect to president Uhuru Kenyatta.
Murathe for the last two years has depicted the image of someone on a mission, last year Moses Kuria termed him as a broker after he started working with opposition leader Raila Odinga.
