Did a top state operative’s last-minute intervention stop about 15 city MCAs who were ready to defect from President Uhuru Kenyatta’s (pictured) Jubilee Party for Deputy President William Ruto’s UDA? Some MCAs have told Corridors they were summoned to a high-end hotel in a neighbouring county for a night meeting.
This was after word went around that they planned to troop to the DP’s ‘hustler mansion’ to pledge their allegiance. But in the nick of time, they received messages summoning them to the three-hour meeting.
The legislators now say they will go slow on their decision and hold a press conference next week to delink themselves from UDA. Wonder what hanged their allegiance.
