Former Kiambu governor and Tujibebe party leader William Kabogo has said that Kenya kwanza alliance is not advocating for six piece voting pattern.

Speaking to the media on Wednesday, Kabogo said that since it’s a coalition of parties campaigning for DP Ruto, it would be ill for calling for six pieces.

Kabogo said that his party Tujibebe will field candidates across the Country just like other parties in Kenya Kwanza.

“We aren’t advocating for six pieces at all, every party is allowed to leave space open for free and fair election, whoever wins will be the support for Kenya Kwanza government, “he said.

He said the electorate should be allowed to exercise their freedom in selecting their president, governor, senator, woman representative, MP and MCA.

He said that ‘mix-and-match’ voting pattern will be an exercise of democracy as Kenyans will be allowed to vote for leaders that they deserve.

Kenya Kwanza Alliance parties signed their Coalition Agreement on Tuesday prior to depositing the document with the Registrar of Political Parties.

Chama Cha Kazi, Communist Party of Kenya, Devolution Party, Economic Freedom Party, Farmers Party, The Service Party, Tujibebe Wakenya Party and Umoja Maendeleo Party, Ford Kenya, Amani National Congress among others.

According to DP Ruto, the deal signaled the formation of a formidable political outfit that will clinch power at the August General Election and take Kenya to the next level.

“There are many coalitions in town but this is a coalition with a difference. The alliance we put together today is the alliance of the free, the alliance of the willing,” DP Ruto said.

Kabogo's recent dalliance with Ruto leaves KOT baffled

During the past interview, TSP party leader Mwangi Kiunjuri had warned UDA officials of advocating the six piece voting pattern.

Kiunjuri said that it might break the unity of the Mount Kenya region and especially to those supporting Ruto’s presidential bid.

Kiunjuri was reacting after DP Ruto had claimed that it was impossible to unite the country if “everybody has his political party from his corner, from his community, from his region.”
