Kabogo’s Factor that Will Overrun Ruto’s Popularity in Mount Kenya

The last time, two Williams met and had heated public debate was in 2017,in readiness to general election and it created `social buzz among their supporters.

Am talking of William Ruto and former Kiambu governor William Kabogo who are both eyeing to succeed president Uhuru Kenyatta comes 2022.

Kabogo had earlier in 2017 warned Ruto that Mount Kenya region will not present him the votes in a golden plate but he will have to soil himself and campaign for the votes.

Later there was a social buzz with Ruto’s supporters accusing Kabogo of disrespecting deputy president where the two later met and solved their issues with Ruto maintaining they are friends.

Kabogo said he made no mistaking in telling Deputy President William Ruto that he is not guaranteed of a block-backing in the Mt Kenya region in his 2022 presidential bid.

“Ruto and I are friends and as such I am entitled to tell him the truth. The conversation for 2022 presidential elections should begin now,” Kabogo was quoted saying.

Despite the fact that the two are very rich Kabogo influence in mount Kenya region will determine his score card and the fact that the mount Kenya region is seeking his heir,he might be advantaged to either be endorsed to face off with Ruto or deputize him.

Earlier speaking in a TV intervier,Kabogo revealed that he does not support the DP while declaring that he (Kabogo) would also consider running for the top seat.

“He (Ruto) is my friend because I have no reason to be enemies with him,” Kabogo said, but when asked if he would support his candidature for 2022, he answered, “Not at the moment.”

Also after 2017 general election,Kabogo accused Ruto of rigging him during the nomination exercise in favour of Waititu who this year was impeached by the senate.
