Kabogo’s Tujibebe Wakenya Party to field candidate in Mahoo Ward by-election

Tujibebe Wakenya Party allied to former Kiambu governor William Kabogo is expected to field a candidate in the Upcoming Mahoo Ward by-elections in Taveta sub-county,Taita Taveta County.

The seat fell vacant following the death of Ronald Sagurani, who was minority leader in August this year after short illness.He died undergoing treatment at Pandya Hospital in Mombasa.

Sagurani was elected to represent Mahoo Ward in the County Assembly on a Jubilee Party ticket. He was serving a second term in office.

Taking to social media,Kabogo drummed support for Samuel Mochiemo Obwoge who he described as charismatic leader and visionary.

“Tujibebe Wakenya Party shall be fielding a candidate in the Upcoming Mahoo Ward by-elections in Taveta sub-county,Taita Taveta County,”Kabogo said.

He added, “Samuel Mochiemo Obwoge who is a charismatic youth leader, has received his nomination certificate at the Jibebe party offices in Taveta and will fly the Party flag,”

He urged the people of Mahoo Ward to come out in large numbers and participate in the by-elections to be held on the 16th of December 2021, and support Hon. Obwoge.

Tujibebe Party was last week issued with certificate of full registration by the registrar of political party after fulfilling the requirements.

For the last three months, the party has been operating on an interim certificate.

The law states that for the party to be fully registered, they are expected to recruit at least 1,000 members in at least 24 counties, open offices in the devolved units, and have their headquarters in one more county.

They are also expected to propose governing bodies and be inspected within the same period, for them to be fully registered.

A total of 76 political parties in Kenya are now fully registered according to Registrar of Political Parties Ann Nderitu.
