Kalonzo wont deliver any vote to Azimio from Ukambani -MP Victor Munyaka

Machakos Township Member of parliament Victor Munyaka has said that Kalonzo Musyoka does not influence the Ukambani region and thus he won’t deliver any votes to Azimio as expected.

Munyaka spoke on Sunday in Thika Stadium during deputy president William Ruto.

He said that the region will rally behind president deputy president William Ruto and the Kenya Kwanza team to deliver the votes.

“Deputy President, Kalonzo Musyoka has no influence in Ukambani politics and thus he has no votes, by joining handshake, it means the end of his career,’ he said.

His sentiments were echoed by former Nairobi deputy governor Jonathan Mueke who said that Kenyans will decide on their own without being forced on the route to take.

He said that by joining Azimio, Kalonzo is supporting all the evil things that Raila Odinga has done to the Kamba community.

“ODM through Raila Odinga has been taking advantage of Kamba nation every electioneering period and this time around, we will not allow such move,’ Mueke said.

He said he has shifted his political base to Kitui and he would be vying for the governorship position.

Kalonzo Musyoka joined delegates at Jacaranda ground and endorsed Raila Odinga as the suitable candidate to succeed Uhuru Kenyatta.

Ruto heads to Thika on Sunday for mega rally

The wiper party leader had vowed to go it alone but he shelved his ambitions on Saturday after Uhuru convinced him to support Raila Odinga.

 “I am saying today Raila Tosha Roho Safi,” Kalonzo told a rally at the Jacaranda grounds in Nairobi where he joined President Uhuru Kenyatta and Odinga and all other Azimio coalition partners who signed the pact at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC).

The DP has lately intensified campaigns across the country and the Ukambani region is one of the areas he has pitched tents in a bid to woo them to back him.

Among the leaders from the region whom the DP[ is working with include Johnstone Muthama (UDA chairman), Adelina Mwau (Kitui deputy governor), Vincent Kawaya( Mwala MP), and Jonathan Mueke(former deputy governor).

The leaders have been instrumental in urging the region to back his presidency despite the Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, who hails from the region, being billed as the region’s kingpin.

During the recent visit to the region last year, deputy president William Ruto urged the electorates not to follow political parties that have no agenda for the community.

Ruto said the region has suffered at the hands of politicians with no focus on the people and their issues.

“Make no that mistake again. Let us walk together and form the next government,” Ruto said.

The DP said his government will prioritize job creation to ensure the youth who are unemployed are involved in the development of the nation if it clinches to power come 2022.

UDA chairman Johnstone Muthama recently attacked Kalonzo Musyoka maintaining that he hasn’t delivered any progress in the region.

He said that the region will fully support William Ruto as the suitable candidate to succeed Uhuru Kenyatta.
