The Kenya Veterinary Board has issued a suspension notice for Dr. Joan Chepkemoi, Registration No. 3109, effective July 15, 2024.
In advertorial statement on Mygov newsapper,the board said that pursuant to Section 13 (1) she (Chepkemoi) shall not practice, or hold herself out, whether directly or indirectly as practicing or being able to practice as a veterinary surgeon or to take up employment as such unless she is registered and licensed.

“IN EXERCISE of powers conferred by Section 35 (1)(b), (5) of the Veterinary Surgeons and Veterinary Paraprofessionals Act, 2011, notice is given that the Kenya Veterinary Board has directed the suspension of Joan Chepkemoi (Dr.), Registration No. 3109 from the register of veterinary surgeons w.e.f. 15th July, 2024.,’Statement read.
This action comes under the authority of Section 35 (1)(b) and (5) of the Veterinary Surgeons and Veterinary Paraprofessionals Act (No. 29 of 2011).

Dr. Chepkemoi is now prohibited from practicing as a veterinary surgeon or representing herself as qualified to do so, unless she is re-registered and licensed. This suspension affects her ability to take up any employment related to veterinary services.
