ODM leader Raila Odinga has been dealing with jealousy and envy since President William Ruto defeated him in August, DP Rigathi Gachagua claims.
The Ruto and Gachagua team was declared victor after the concluded election, after thinly beating Raila and his running mate Martha Karua.
Gachagua claims that Raila is yet to overcome the envy that comes with seeing Ruto on the throne and not him, hence his increasing criticism of Ruto.
The Second in Command has cited the GMO debate, which has seen Raila attack Ruto, and says that Raila isn’t advising Ruto but demonstrating his jealousy.
.“Raila is just jealous that in less than 100 days in office, Ruto has already engaged development partners at least two times for high level talks. which have already yielded fruit for our people,” he said in Lagdera, Garissa County on Monday, reports The Star.
Gachagua added that Raila is in no place to advise the current regime on matters governance, after blowing off the chance when he had it.
He said that the last time he had the opportunity, towards the end of former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s tenure, he only messed up the country.
“Raila should stop lecturing us on what to do and what not to, the last time he gave advice to the government led by Uhuru kenyatta the country found itself in Sh2 trillion debt,” he added.
