The Real Estate Association of Kenya (RESA) will hold its annual end-of-year meeting tomorrow at a city hotel, bringing together industry stakeholders to reflect on 2024 and set strategic goals for 2025. The event, chaired by RESA Chairman Kinyua Wairatu, will include an awards ceremony to recognize top-performing companies for their contributions to the sector.

“This is one of a kind. We will have an opportunity to review 2024 and lay the groundwork for the coming year, where we will be unveiling some exciting developments,” Wairatu said.

The gathering will serve as a platform for RESA to highlight its achievements in 2024, particularly in its efforts to restore public trust in Kenya’s real estate industry. Wairatu noted that the association had made significant progress in eliminating fraudulent actors and promoting ethical business practices.

“Cases of fraud and conning have reduced significantly since many companies have joined RESA. While we still have some unscrupulous players, I can confidently say that the industry is regaining public trust. It may take time, but I am confident we will achieve our goals,” Wairatu stated.

To further enhance professionalism, RESA has established a certification system for its members, ensuring accountability and ethical conduct. The association has also launched public awareness campaigns urging Kenyans to engage only with registered real estate firms.

Looking ahead, Wairatu revealed that RESA aims to register over 2,000 real estate companies by next year, a move intended to strengthen oversight and safeguard consumers from fraud. As the real estate sector continues to grow, RESA’s role in fostering transparency and ethical practices will remain critical.

The upcoming meeting is seen as a crucial step in aligning the sector’s goals with Kenya’s broader economic development agenda. By recognizing top performers and outlining the 2025 strategic plan, RESA aims to build a more accountable, transparent, and consumer-friendly real estate industry.
