More than 2,000 teachers have submitted grievances to the Senate, urging that Kilifi County be officially categorized as an arid and hardship region, citing challenging working conditions.
These educators are advocating for teachers in Kilifi County to receive hardship allowances, including housing allowances for some instructors employed by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) in the county.
They argue that despite the entire Kilifi County being characterized by arid conditions, the TSC has primarily focused on areas such as Magarini and Ganze, leaving other regions overlooked.
