List of Mount Kenya governors to attend Azimio la Umoja event at Kasarani on Friday

Former prime minister Raila Odinga has billed Friday Azimio la Umoja as a unity forum where several county officials are expected to attend.

Already, Odinga has extended an olive hand to OKA principles among them Musalia Mudavadi, Kalonzo Musyoka, Gideon Moi and Moses Wetangula.

Raila Odinga recently attended Kalonzo Musyoka NDC conference at Kasarani where he was endorsed to vie for the presidential seat.

The Opposition Chief yesterday said his unity deal with Uhuru will become clearer during the final lap of the regional consultative meetings in Nairobi.

According to Raila, the event will be attended by both ODM and Jubilee delegates.

“We will have sitting arrangements for delegates separate from one of the supporters,” Raila said.

It is estimated that some 60,000 delegates and supporters will attend the event at Moi International Stadium, Kasarani.

From the Mount Kenya region, about six governors have confirmed their attendance and about two former governors from the region.

According to a reliable source who understands the meeting development, the Kikuyu council of elders will be presented by Wachira Wakiago and Mount Kenya foundation officials will also be present.

He said that MKF is among the financiers of the event. The group is today holding a crucial meeting at Safari park where they are endorsing Odinga presidency.

Three Mt Kenya governors want CSs named from all counties

The governors, Lee Kinyanjui (Nakuru), Francis Kimemia (Nyandarua), James Nyoro (Kiambu), Kiraitu Murungi (Meru) and Nderitu Mureithi (Laikipia) are expected to attend.

Others said to have confirmed attendance includes Former Kiambu governor William Kabogo, Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua as well as former presidential candidate Peter Kenneth.

MPs Junet Mohammed (Suna East), George Aladwa (Makadara), Wafula Wamunyinyi (Kanduyi), Maina Kamanda, Kanini Kega,Ngunjiri Wambugu and Edwin Sifuna have been tasked to ensure the event is successful.
