A resident of Baringo has filed a complaint with Chief Justice Martha Koome about the region’s rampant insecurity.

He contends that the country has ignored residents’ complaints, resulting in a high number of killings and the displacement of dozens. The residents are fed up, saying they will not accept the lacklustre response from the national government anymore.

44-year-old Professor Paul Kipyamat had a mission to deliver a complaint to Chief Justice Martha Koome noting that  a blind eye has been turned to the reeking violence, insecurity and unjust deaths meted out on the people of Baringo. And having experienced it first-hand when bandits attacked him and left 7 of his relatives dead, he is fed up.

Professor Kipyamat says the complaint he has filed is on behalf of the Baringo South Community Focus Group. In the complaint, where they name several leaders who have been called out severally for instigating violence, they question why none have been apprehended.
