The Ministry of Health has announced that millions of Kenyans have registered for the Social Health Authority (SHA) program.
Speaking during a press briefing at Afya House, Public Health Principal Secretary Dr. Patrick Amoth revealed that over 660,000 healthcare claims worth over Ksh 14.2 billion have been processed in the past six months.
He noted that these funds would be used to digitize healthcare efforts and enhance service delivery across the country.
Dr. Amoth also announced the distribution of 2.3 million doses of BCG vaccines and 7 million doses of measles-rubella vaccines to regional depots. “This vaccination process will take place across the country, and I urge Kenyans to take this opportunity to vaccinate their children,” he said.

Additionally, the Ministry of Health, in collaboration with CSO International and the Africa CDC, is set to host the Regional Health Promotion Conference 2025 in Nairobi.
Dr. Amoth was accompanied by Principal Secretary for Professional Standards, Mary Muthoni, during the briefing.
