Mombasa Senator Mohammed Faki has revealed that the county government is faced with the challenge of stalled projects from the pioneer government’s administration.
He said in Likoni he found out that apart from uncompleted projects the constituency is grappling with the shortage of both medical practitioners and clinical officers.
“The county lacks enough inspectorate personal and boundary walls,” he pointed out.
Faki said at the same time the sub county health facilities which were initiated are stalled leading to poor service in county heath delivery.
He was briefing the media when he presented the interim report of the oversight committee to Mombasa governor Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir at the county offices in Nyali constituency, Mombasa county.
The County senator said the report was in line with his responsibility with allocated funds.
Faki said funds are allocated in line with his jurisdiction and duty at the end of a fact finding and inspection tour of all sub counties.
He disclosed a lot of Early childhood Development and Education program (ECDE) facilities are still not completed with some even before 2020 featuring a lot during their fact finding mission.
“The construction work of market places has stalled,” he disclosed.
On his part, the governor said most of the stalled projects are as a result of cases pending in the courts of law.
Abdulswamad said he welcomes the oversight committee in his county.
“A lot of the pending cases are over land ownership disputes which has led to the stalling of the projects,” he disclosed.
