Known Kikuyu secular artist Muigai wa Njoroge has been hired again by the DP William Ruto’s political team to drum support for his presidential bid.

The singer alias Kigutha has been in the cold since he released songs criticizing president Uhuru Kenyatta and Azimio la Umoja presidential aspirant Raila Odinga.

Yesterday marked his major return to UDA campaigns during an event at Ndumberi in Kiambu county.

Recently he found himself in a tricky situation after nominated MP Maina Kamanda said the musician was paid millions of shilling by Ruto to attack Uhuru.

Muigai who has been in the cold, running his new bar in Kahawa West estate denied the claims.

The event, a peace rally organized by the MediaMax Network Limited was attended by the proponents of Raila and Ruto.

Kiambu governor James Nyoro and Murang’a Women Representative Sabina Chege attended and addressed the mammoth crowd attending.

Several Kikuyu musicians entertained the crowd. (Video below).

Sabina called for the support of Raila amidst some ululations but Muigai took the lion share of time attacking Raila and at the same time campaigning for Ruto.

“It is bad to have a butchery with the hyena as the keeper and dog wrapping it. We want our leaders to be hungry and not greedy because the hungry gets satisfied but the greedy never” he said.

He told the supporters not to vote the rich people, claiming the country will only be changed by the poor.

“On August the grave is ready. Our young men will only need food so to bury him (Raila)” he said.

Adding that Ruto and other Kiambu leaders in UDA had sent him that message.

Nyoro on his part said; “Our clarion call is that peace prevails during our campaigns. This election will come and go, but Kenya and Kiambu will remain”.
