As political contests for 2022 polls take shape across the country, a candidate for Murang’a governorship seat has opted out early.
Julius Kaberere, a Commonwealth technocrat vied the seat in 2013, then in 2017 supported the incumbent Mwangi wa Iria and as the 2022 contest seems good for him, he has decided to drop out.
He vied under Alliance Party of Kenya, fighting it out with Wa Iria and Dr Moses Mwangi who came second in 2013 and 2017 polls.
Kaberere earlier campaigns.
Kaberere says some people have urged him to go for the seat in the next polls, he has decided to call it quits early.
“I have received a lot of enquiries and encouragement to declare my candidature with regard to 2022 General Election. However, let it be on record that I will not be contesting the Muranga’s Governors Seat in 2022” Kaberere says.
He says he will support the candidate with good manifesto that provides good governance and prudent management of resources.
